Customer Presence

Customer presence helps operators understand where a customer was recently active when a conversation or issue is created. It is most useful for live chat and portal workflows where the customer is currently looking at a product page, docs page, or setup flow.

What Presence Can Show

  • Recent page activity from a page with the Woes widget installed.
  • Last known customer context for a conversation.
  • Product or docs area where the customer may need help.
  • Activity freshness so stale pages are not treated as live context.

Privacy Boundary

Presence should help operators understand support context, not track unrelated customer behavior. Woes stores customer-safe widget activity and avoids exposing raw secrets, private tokens, or general browser data.

How To Use It

  1. Install the widget on product or docs pages where support is available.
  2. Identify signed-in users when appropriate.
  3. Open the client or conversation record in Woes.
  4. Use recent activity as context before replying.
  5. Do not rely on stale presence as proof of current customer intent.
